Coaching Staff Addition

Our very own, Gordie Cheyne, is now becoming a coach at CFFP! Gordie has been a long time member of CFFP starting as a CrossFit kid and coming to the gym with his dad who first introduced him to CrossFit. Growing up, Gordie played football and found his passion in fitness. After high school, is when he really found his passion for CrossFit. Gordie graduated from the University of Florida in 2021 and earned his CrossFit L1 the year before. Gordie went to chiropractic school and coached for two years while going to school. He will soon be graduating aon working at Cheyne Family Chiropractic Center.

As a chiropractor, Gordie will bring knowledge and expertise in anatomy function, nervous system connection to movement, and brain body muscle engagement for proper functional movement. Gordie is also very knowledgeable in Olympic lifting mechanics and gymnastics movements.

To say we are excited for Gordie to join our coaching staff would be an understatement. Please help us in welcoming Gordie!

Dry January- What are the Effects?

Dry January is a great chance to cut down on alcohol or become alcohol-free as the new year starts. There are several reasons you should try Dry January for both short term and long term health benefits.

Better Health- When you stop drinking alcohol, it can cause obvious changes to your health such as: liver health, better sleep, and weight loss.

Improved Mental Clarity- Giving up alcohol sharpens your thinking. It can reduce brain fog, make you feel less stressed, less anxious, and overall more emotionally stable.

Save Money- Alcohol isn’t cheap and can add up when you consume it regularly.

Run, Run As Fast As You Can!

Our coaches have picked up another hobby… running.

Coach Tini will be running a 10k as part of the Nashville Marathon raising funds to support the kids and families at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Tini will  run as a Hero on April 26, 2025. To support her, you can take your spare change and place it in the donation bucket located on the shelf at the gym or donate using Venmo.

Coach Claudia is also running a marathon. She will be running the Town of Celebration Marathon on January 26th. Please wish her luck!

Athlete of the Month

Anthony T.

Congratulations to our CFFP Athletes of the Month, Anthony T.

We are excited to announce Anthony T. has been selected as our Athlete of the Month! This is a reflection of his hard work, dedication, and exceptional performance throughout the month. Anthony has shown remarkable commitment both to his training as well as his diet. Anthony completed the Whole30 challenge with great results. He learned a lot about the food he was consuming and will continue with clean eating, but with a plan that is more sustainable for his life. Anthony’s positive attitude, willingness to try new things, and determination to continue to improve is inspiring for his coaches and teammates alike.

We are so happy to have Anthony as our Athlete of the Month and as an awesome member of our CFFP community. Keep up the great work. Congratulations Anthony!

Each month we spotlight a CFFP athlete who stands out. We are always looking for that athlete that shows up, gives their best, and then gives more. These athletes are ready to learn, ready to work, support their fellow classmates, and encourage others to reach their goals. If you have someone in mind please send your suggestions for August’s Athlete of the Month via email to crossfitfortpierce@gmail.com or you can DM the Instagram page sharing why you think this athlete is deserving.
